Mileage Tracker privacy policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
Mileage Tracker ("the app") is developed by Koshka Solutions ("we", "us", "our"). Koshka Solutions is a trade name of Koshka Properties LLC, a New York limited liability company. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app.
The short version: we never receive any of your information. Everything you enter is stored on your device, and if Android backup is on, it’s also included in your own Google backup. If you choose to buy the optional unlock or log trips by voice with Gemini, Google handles those parts as described below.
Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information, and the app does not require an account or sign-in of any kind. Mileage Tracker does not use analytics, does not show ads, and does not include any crash-reporting or tracking software development kits (SDKs).
The app also does not request access to your device’s location, camera, contacts, or any other sensitive permission.
Data you enter
To function, the app stores the information you choose to enter directly on your device, in a local database. This includes:
- Saved locations (name, optional address, and default trip distance)
- Mileage rates you configure
- Trip records (date, location, distance, purpose, and any notes you add)
This data is stored on your device. We do not operate any server that receives, stores, or has access to this information, and it is never sent to us.
Android backup
If Android backup is turned on for your device, Android includes the app’s local database in your device backup. That backup is stored in your Google account and handled by Google under Google’s Privacy Policy. We cannot access it. It lets you restore your trips on a new or reset phone. If you’d rather your trips not be included, turn off backup in your device settings.
Optional purchase
Mileage Tracker is free for up to 15 trips. You can remove that limit with a one-time in-app purchase through Google Play.
- Payment is handled entirely by Google Play under Google’s Privacy Policy. We never see your card or payment details.
- The app records only whether the unlock has been purchased, in its local storage on your device. It checks with Google Play to restore the purchase, for example after you reinstall.
- Like every Google Play developer, we can see order records that Google Play provides for purchases of our apps (such as the order number, product and date), which we use only for refunds, support and our financial records.
Voice logging with Gemini (optional)
On supported Android devices, you can ask Google’s Gemini assistant to log a trip, for example “record a business trip to Lowes”. When you do:
- Gemini processes your spoken request and passes the destination name to Mileage Tracker on your device.
- The app looks up that name among your saved locations, logs the trip in its local database, and returns a short confirmation (or the reason it couldn’t log the trip) for Gemini to read back to you.
- Your voice request is handled by Google under its Gemini privacy terms, not by us. We don’t receive your voice, transcripts or any of this data.
You don’t have to use this feature; trips can always be logged in the app itself.
Exporting your data
Mileage Tracker lets you export your trip data as a CSV file for your own records (for example, for tax purposes). This export only happens when you choose to trigger it, and it uses your device’s built-in share function, letting you decide where the file goes, such as email, cloud storage, or a messaging app of your choice. We do not receive a copy of any exported file.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, because we never receive it in the first place. The app makes no network requests to send your trips, locations or rates anywhere. The only exchanges with other services are the optional Google Play purchase, Gemini voice logging if you use it, and Android’s own backup to your Google account if you have it turned on, all described above.
Data deletion
Since all data lives in the app’s local storage on your device, you can delete it at any time by removing individual records within the app, clearing the app’s storage in your device settings, or uninstalling the app. If Android backup is on, a copy may remain in your Google backup until Android replaces or expires it; you can manage or delete backups in your Google account.
Children’s privacy
Mileage Tracker is not directed at children, does not knowingly collect information from anyone, and is intended for general audiences tracking business or personal mileage.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes (for example, if a future version of the app adds a new feature that affects your data), we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date.
